Don't Quite Know

Don't Quite Know

Classroom
Stare at the ceiling
Don’t quite know where to look
how to smile
When to laugh
Ask for help but so many people need it more than you
So how real is your hurt anyways
Sitting in plastic chairs behind plastic tables
Plastic board boredom sinks into the emptiness in your
Full to fill the void stomach
Hollow eyes red where they should be white
Black where they should be skin
Lashes pile on the ground around there are no more wishes left in us
Scratched nose rubbed lids
Yawn but the tiredness does not disappear
Its remnants floating belly up in the vast ocean of all this unfulfilled potential
Pupils swimming in a milky sea of blindness
Blink twice
But no one dives in to save me
Sinking under the salty-sweet surface if you
See me
Please
Teach me how to be simultaneously happy, in peace and alive.
