Poem -

Double Life

An Ex’s deceit

Double Life

Amber eyes seeping in rage,

Flickering flames dancing in darkness,

Years pass through her gaze,
Peering inside one so heartless,

Creeping across the creaky floor,

Hearing your whispers pass the door,

Finding what isn’t mine anymore,
So like a raven I let you soar,

To the moon and back,
you had once told,

But past the poker faced facade,
You win and I fold,

What once was will never be,
Our lives tied to monogamy,

Your soft serenade slaughters me,
Taking my last breath finally free.

Being Me

So like a raven I let you soar,

To the moon and back,

Oh how I love that line! It is brilliant and perfectly fits this poem.

I am sorry I have not seen this until now. But better late than never x

No problem! I appreciate your kind words. Writing that helped me get over my past and look far beyond what is currently going on in the world. We all need someone to rely on and thankfully I’ve found her.
