Doubt, Never

Doubt, Never

And if you could hear me...
My thoughts, my voice, and my very need of you...
You wouldn't be surprised.
Because I value you like the last ruby in the treasure chest.
Like the small golden sliver of sunlight running through the curtain...
Like the smell of the rain on a cold night...
Like the last leaf hanging onto the tree in fall...
And if you could read me...
My thoughts, the words I never said, and my very yearning for you...
You wouldn't be surprised.
Because if I had a penny for every time you sailed my mind, we'd be rich.
Like the endless deep of the ocean to its very core, I would never hurt you or let the storm tip our boat...
Like the doves cooing in the morning sunrise...
Like the mountains dominating the valleys...
And if you really knew how much I care...
You wouldn't be surprised.
Because just like the snow covers the ground every year, and the summer steals it's thrill...
You know I will always love you, and doubt, you never will
