Down A Dark Hallway

Looking down the hallway
You tremble in fear
The sounds from the basement
Have come to see you my dear
Creeping down this corridor
Was that a shadow going by ?
Or am I slowing losing my mind
Here the whispers they call your name
Lights flickering on and off
I can tell we will never be truly the same
Reversing course back from Which we came
Footsteps following behind our every step
Stopping to catch your breath
A cold chill resonates in the air
We are truly not alone
As the wind howls against the window panes
Time to make a break for it
Before we run out of luck
The clock strikes midnight
This is really no fun
As we turn to look at the house
Red eyes pierce the darkened sky
We better start running for our lives

Thanks Greg . Happy Halloween ?
Dear Rock,
Your great Halloween write, actually brought back some boyhood memories of an abandoned house that we used to think was haunted. None of us would dare to get near it, but, just like in your poem, sometimes we thought that we saw red eyes glowing in the window.
Love,

That’s amazing that my story brought back some memories from your youth . Pretty cool. I wrote the poem before I found a picture. The words come to me like a light switch being tuned on . Glad you enjoyed it , rock
