Dragon Lore

Dragon Lore

Dark and dank in cavern keep

In stoic slumber he’ll sleep

Centuries have past

Weary his kind is the last

On the brink of extinction

Beauty has no distinction

Cowering against humanity

Greedily hunted for vanity

Bejeweled treasure a potent draw

Obsession for gold a single flaw

Β In a cavern he dreams

Shining gold till it gleams

A mere scale highly prized

A species sorely despised

A bounty more priceless than gold

Leathery wings enfold

Guardian of cavern keep

A dragon shall evermore sleep

Hatchling in gentle caress

A father’s love to bless

Hey DARKLY!!...... Personally, I Love dragon lore!!..... and anything having to do with dragons really......I think most people can relate!!....... They are so magical and so dragging' cool!!...... usually misunderstood in most stories.......I like what you did here..... by personalizing them with the father and son aspect...... when I was a boy I w a member of the neighborhood "Dragon Club "......I know !!.......sounds silly.......bit for is kids it was a blast and a bolstering of our imaginations fun side....... smiles....... you go girl!!.......ALL STARS!!..... fun read!!......
