Dream Weaver

Threads sewn so very tightly, to make a quilt, to tell a story, the colors blended from dried powders, earths clay
A magic, a medicine man could not have, the native girl, learned well, from her great grandmother, a dream
In each panel, tied together, with young, and old, the wise teachings, the gift passed down, a cherished cover
The sunrise, the mountain, the palomino, the eagle, the wolf, the chief, the native tribe, the deer, the buffalo
The owl, the tree, the river, the rabbit, the artwork, all stitched, with love, with energy, patience, and discipline
Where my children, dream, they can sleep easy, in the comfort, in the quilt, my grandmother taught me, long, long, ago
