Dreams

I still dream about my mum and dad, it’s as though they are still here

They are young in my dreams and so full of life but then they disappear

I have often tried to stay asleep to reach the end of the dream

But I never get to see the end, how unfair does that seem

I dream about my grown up children, in my dreams they’re under five

I read them stories and try my best to keep the memories alive

Memories are precious and the best things is, no one can take them away

Locked safe away inside our heads and that is where they will stay

Dreams are the key that unlock the door of the memories in our minds

Most of them good, some of them bad, that’s life, it takes all kinds

I go where I want to in my dreams , the world is mine to see

I don’t need money for anything, everything is free

Maybe that’s where we go when we leave this earth, so there’s nothing at all to dread

Off to the land of dreams we go, the heaven inside my head
