Dressed In Moonlight

Haloed by star dust,
dressed in moonlight,
dancing beneath the star lit sky
a small silver winged angel prays
for all those she passes by.
With each prayer she bestows
her radiant beauty more brightly glows.
Her wing span becomes longer
and her feathers extend farther.
Soon she flutters upon the water
gracing the surface with the tips of her toes.
Where she is going no one knows.
With each prayer answered her
body becomes more illuminated
and she takes to flight.
While she flies over roof tops
she shares through your dreams her delight.
When dusk turns into dawn
her legs and feet become like a bird
and her body becomes fully feathered
in colors of blue and white.
Her head is crested and she grows
a slender beak ever so slight.
As the sun rises she begins to chirp
and the flowers awaken
from their nightly slumber.
Greenery soaks in the sun rays
lavished with splendor.
She perches outside my window
and sings her joyous song.
Many other birds follow along.
I wake to the promise of a new day
and my troubles melt away.
