Poem -

Drought

I went to the Lake today
 the water was too low
So then I decided to go
Back home to the place I know
Were the lakes are alive
Back to my own country side

I have many a tale to tell
About the time I found a well
With ground as hard as acid rain
And people hearts turn cold to pain
In this place the abandoned dwell
This place that doesn't have a well

A land were hope is hard to find
Were water doesn't flow thru pines
A land they call free and clear
A land were people live in fear
A land were children don't see home
A land you wouldn't want to roam
