DRUNK

DRUNK

He came drunk last night
Just when he stepped into the lounge
Our entire house reeked of alcohol
His eyes were red of alcohol
His breath smelled worse than a damaged toilet pipe
As I sat on my bed I listened
I listened to my parents scolding at him
My father was very angry
I did not have to see him to know this
His voice and tone said it all
I heard a door slam
And I knew my dad had kicked him out again
Now he’ll roam around in the night
And only god knows where he’ll sleep
