Poem -

Dust

My past is turning into dust,
Gathering in my heart.
I'm sick of being broken.
I'm sick of falling apart.
How do you move on from this?
How do you heal?
One minute everything is fine;
Then in one second everything becomes unreal.
You were just here,
Now you disappeared.
Leaving me in our dust.
Turning my heart to rust.
The love I counted on all this time,
Has gone too.
But I still love,
Still want you.
How can I trust what you say?
You get to be happy,
And I get to decay.
Am I a monster?
Did I drive you to this?
What happened to forever?
What happened to OUR happiness?
I should move on,
But my rusty dusty heart wants you.
I'll keep fighting,
Keep trying to make it through.
Maybe we'll find each other again.
After we fix our faults and scars.
Maybe someday,
We won't just be wishing on stars.
