Dust Bowl: Whispering Plains

Dust Bowl: Whispering Plains

Across the plains of Texas and Oklahoma

The sun beats down like a hammer upon the land

Upon the plains, a barren hand

Gray clouds swirl across the land

From Oklahoma to Kansas

A dust bowl swirls across the Great Plains

The skies painted red with dust

Howling winds and dust blowing across farms

Farm houses stand empty and abandoned 🏠🏠🏠 🏠🏠

Tractors rust, like skeletons of steel 🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜

Broken dreams scattered in the dust

No golden wheat 🌾 to sway and gleam

Just swirling dust and howling winds

Upon the dust-blown whispering plains

The plains whisper of new beginnings and hope
