Eclipse Haiku

Eclipse Haiku

The sun slowly dims,
The moon’s  darkened cloak obscures
The land of the free.

Enjoy the eclipse my American cousins xxx

Remember seeing a total eclipse about 1999 sitting with a group of New Agers and thinking how strange it was that the birds had stopped singing.... very nice Haiku

Hello Lodigiana...

I got to experience one in 1996...

What was extra special to me was it was the night of my birthday...

People have asked me what I want for my birthday and honestly I tell them stores have nice things, going to dinner is nice also, but the best is the gifts that I get from God and they start from the time I wake up on my birthday until I go to sleep...

Just periodically throughout the day...

I tend to feel like a kid in anticipation that I just know God is going to do something great and I can't wait to see it...

IT'S AMAZING!

I tell Him thank you and He always throws in something else...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing!

Hugs...

hey, Lodigiana, in Toronto there wasn't much of a show but the day was hot, was talking to someone in a garage and suddenly it cooled, sunlight dimmed a bit but really nothing spectacular to be honest, still, like an idiot I kept looking up at the sun, too curious....your poem is lovely, much much more interesting than this particular eclipse, cool post, cheers poet...7 years from now will give more of a show, hopefully

Hi Christopher, I guess the eclipse is a bit like life...we sometimes expect so much from it that we are disappointed when it isn't magnificent..but I know exactly what you mean!, Keep looking skyward though and maybe the next one will astound us all!! Thank you for your kind words my friend! Xxx
