Poem -

The Edge Of My Mind

You always exist at the edge of my mind

I’m only seen from the corner of your eye

You’re all the things I’ve come to despise

All of my words are nothing but lies

My nightmares are made from things that you do

I hate you each time you say β€œI love you”

Within my kiss you see another face

I pretend its not you when we embrace

My eyes don’t meet yours when I say "I do"

You actually pause before saying it too

I’m only free when you’re not awake

You cry silently when you can’t escape

Now as we both drink from this poisoned cup

You start to fade even as you look up

And the smile that I see erases the lies

You’ve only existed at the edge of my mind
