EMOTIONAL BLINDNESS

​​​​Distorted thoughts, faulty thinking
Those things I tell myself
When my emotions don't agree
All reasoning gets put on a shelf
It's hard to get beyond emotions
She believes what she feels is true
Blinded by emotional reasoning
She tries to change my point of view
She colors my world in hues of blue
My heart is tinged with pain
My eyes can't see through emotional blindness
And I have to start all over again
It's the way my feelings see things
In a thousand shades of fear
Adding problems to my problems
As I try to persevere
But maybe taking baby steps
And being patient with myself
I'll learn to deal with my emotions
And put emotional reasoning on a shelf
