Emotional Sobriety

Emotional Sobriety

When I feel the magnet of
codependency pulling me
into the whirl pool of
another's business -
the sponsor says,
"not my circus,
not my monkeys."

When I try to get
something from
another they are
not capable of giving,
the sponsor says,
"are you trying
to find bread
in the hardware store?"

When another
tries to pry into
my business I say,
"Three kinds of business,
mine,
yours and
mind your business."

When I start getting
stressed,  I slow down,
feel the feelings and
turn it over to the
Higher Power.

When I don't
know what to do,
I pray and/or
reach out for help.

When I feel the
need to be right,
my innner ding
says,  "Do you
want to be right,
or do you
want your serenity?"

There was a time
when I self-sabotaged.
Today,  I love myself
too much to do
that unconscious
craziness anymore.

Pain and
mistakes
give me
wisdom.

I always have choices.
