At a Noose End

At a Noose End

What would you do

If you ran out of tears

And all that you knew

Chilled you with fears

Gone the light

Out of your eyes

Gone the fight

As your will dies

Enshrouded in darkness

The end of despair

Feeling of emptiness

Devoid of care

Neither alive

Or nor dead

As monsters connive

Inside your head

Twisting your mind

Down a track

So you can’t find

Your own way back

Hence you choose

You’d rather be dead

As you slip the noose

Over your head

And as the last thought

You begin to forage

You step off the chair

With the last of your courage
