Poem -

END OF THE LINE

Prison life

Everybody chooses sides

And many bleed

And others breathe their last breath

Clinched fists

Foaming at the mouth

Strapped in a chair

With no way out

Feel the electricity

Voltage beyond pain

Flesh cooked in an instant

Enough to melt your brain

Behind bars

Nothing but time on your hand

Now you are a dreamer

Willing to make life's plans

But you are three days

From execution

That is your faith

Now wishing you had made better choices

But the verdict is in

Your wish is three days late.
