Battle for life

The battle has commenced, determination is my shield

I focus on my enemy, to the pain l will not yield

The chemo joins my army and I start to win the war

Attacking my powerful foe until it can rise no more

My anger gives me strength, my body I refuse to share

With an enemy intent on destruction, one that doesn’t care

Retaliation it can’t cope with, so I soldier on and on

I cannot let my guard down until I know it’s gone

The plan of attack continues with repeated enemy fire

The enemy starts to retreat , my hopes continue to get higher

The day of defeat finally came but it was not a win for my foe

My army battled on for me and I refused to let go
