Poem -

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

When I walked out your life

Knew it had to be done

My dreams they were shattered

All hope it was gone

No longer I wanted

What you had to give

Fighting and hating

Not a love that should live

Let it burn with the rest

Of my memories to you

Regrets and remorse

Is all that we knew

No joy anymore

No happiness we shared

Destructive; despairing

Not one of us cared

Enough to prevent it

Enough to say “hey!”

“If we keep on like this

It’ll end in tears one day!”

But the rows they went on

The exclamations of blame

The reasons for hating

Became a sad game!

Not one of us noticed

How the other was hurt

Needed a shoulder

Not recriminations, so curt!

We longed for the closeness

We longed to behold

The beauty of love’s light

Not sat out in the cold

The frost it was nippy

Would bite at my skin

Your actions were bitter

Never once let me in

But I too, was not perfect

Your ways they would chafe

Rub me the wrong way

You always played safe

I tried to be part

Of your life in a way

But always knew time out

Would happen one day!

We’d met with excitement

The lust was immense

But now the flames flickered

No longer intense

The fun was left wanting

And so was our life

So I took all my belongings

Left you with your wife!!!

This piece really brings back memories for me.  I think I was temporarily in denial…I knew eventually I have to leave him with his wife.  Excellent write!

Rachel this was a healthy cathartic read!

I like the flow and rhyme keeping a

poignant message for the reader until the

punch line and what a punch line

you set before us, in sum a well thought

Through poem with high relevance,

thank you for writing what I consider

a poem with a conscience; great pic too!

best wishes

Jai :)
