"Enough Hope"

"Enough Hope"

"When reality,
slaps us in the face,
us as addicts,
start the race.
The race to escape it,
in our minds,
if only for,
a short period of time,
but in recovery,
we learn to accept,
all the things,
we used to neglect.

Like our responsibilities,
our health,
our families,
and loved ones,
and ask them,
for forgiveness,
for what we have done.

We pray and pray,
so as to never,
go back,
to our old ways,
and if we do it,
one day at a time,
our sobriety will stay.

We all make mistakes,
and some might be,
worse than others,
but we are the same,
my addict sisters,
and brothers,
and though society,
might try,
to break our bonds,
and too the Devil,
who only wants to harm,
try as they might,
but we know,
in our hearts,
what is right,
and that we need,
each other.
Our fellowship and hope,
adds such strength to the fight.

They can never,
break our bonds.
We latch on,
to each other's light,
and pray to God,
as He recharges,
us spiritually,
for the next fight,
and remember,
I am just one call away,
and I pray when you call,
I give you enough hope,
to face the next day."
