Envy

Envy

White cream icing, on the wedding cake, a picture on top of the pair

Pearls around her slender long neck, also in her golden hair

A diamond the size of a nickel, sparkling clear across the room

Her gown, satin, with lace sleeves, low cut front, for the tease

Envy, simply envy, as I toss the bouquet of lavender roses, with ribbons of pink

I make a wish, and hope it comes true, and some day I will be walking down that isle

With you, your eyes of hazel, your hair of chestnut, your rugged physic

Take this ring, a promise to keep, my heart won't let go, until I am yours

And you are mine, true love, until then, I just envy
