Essence of courage

Smoke billows from window high, Rescuing is my job,  I try. Everyone is out, that's what they said I hear from the distance my son is dead? I went back in to the flames so high, They said "No way" but I got by I ran up the stairs, looking for one, I was having no luck, finding her son. Then I heard screaming a wondering cry, There's no way on my watch, for any to die. I grabbed him and tryed to find a way out, But that way was distant, then I heard a shout. I felt someone pulling on my arm to the way, That brought me to stairs showing no stay. In this place with flames blazing, blinding my sight, I found way out, seeing the light. The boy that I rescued was doing just fine, I though that I might have been losing my mind, But as I looked in the distance, I saw a bright light, that saved us Both as we were saved that night. - See more at: http://allpoetry.com/poem/11759837-The-essence-of-courage-by-C.-Nastu#sthash.i7EqwvHk.dpuf
