Benighted

Benighted

Darkness sets in as the light disappears.

Now I see my light as it dims into fears.

I feel you behind me, as I turn in scare
But to my surprise, no one is there

Where did you go, are you even real
It seems as you are here, for my life to steal

Will you take my life, to a dead place in time,
Will I still belong to my own and my kind??

I look hard and deep, and I see your deep eyes,
It seems as you're drawing me into
Some kind of demise.

Your eyes have no color, green, brown or blue,
As I look in the mirror, I see me as you.

My face has no texture, my skin seems undone,
Why did you take me, do you think that you've won?

I'll leave when I'm ready, and not until then.
Your power is useless, my mind will befriend.
