Even If Only A Moment

Sliding my hesitant hand into yours,
Eyes of trust search for a foundation
In dark pools seeking devoted ardor;
Can't fathom this event in my reality
The lightest touch of welcoming hands,
Gossamer kisses light as butterfly wings...
Blink, and my dream evanesces before me
But no, you stand beside me in the flesh;
Moments suspended hang above our heads
Dark clouds of protection from interference
Where minds blur and nothing else matters...
Your heartbeat resonates within my soul
And all I hear is the sound of your breathing
When you pull me fractionally closer...
Fusion occurs; skilled lips consume breath,
Dragging both of us into oceans of ecstasy...
Beneath my skin, passion sparks flicker
Every inch of this being now enchanted
Under a spell with your gentle ministrations;
These feelings are certainly mutual, however
You ignite with just a trace of my touch
How I desire to hold you here forever;
Part of me is selfish, loathing to let go
Yet, the cruel realization is that I must,
For you are long gone now, mine no more
And I despise the knowledge of that fact;
My wish is to embrace you close once again,
Right here and now, even if only a moment.
