Everlasting

a true friend, 

can speak without words

her knowing gaze and gentle nudges

spoke to me 

coming to an end, candlelight dances with my tears           

blurred, fire and water sparkle in harmony

broken but beautiful,

i don’t need the golden halos to know

i’m looking at an angel

the light in her eyes extinguished.

but her soul shines on
