Everlasting Sleep

Some people say I am

a depressed poet

But I only write what my

heart bleeds out 

My life is like an open book

with a turn of a page 

In a world that is full of nothing

but pain and suffering 

I walk this world alone in

the cold and darkness 

Silent from the world like

a lost child

Time slowly creeps as the

clock strikes midnight 

For this is the time when

death will show his face

When I look into his eyes 

it feels like I am lost

Lost in a world that is full

death and darkness 

His heart is full of nothing

but darkness within

That sends a cold chill that

runs through my body

The time has come for me

to say goodbye 

For the world is about to

come to a stop

Daylight burns as night

starts to fall

And darkness swallows 

my living soul

He holds the hour glass that

marks my internal time

And when the sand stops my

life comes to an end

I close my eyes because my

life starts to fade

Slipping into another world 

of everlasting sleep
