Everything Changing

Everything is changing
Losing and gaining all at the same time
All the while trying my best to savor this intricate life
Losing my hair
Gaining weight
So I did it
I shaved my head
Bald all the while trying to dig deep to prove I'm bold
As the clippers left my head it dawned on me, I hadn't a clue
It was dark as dusk but I felt on the brink of a new day
In the pit of my stomach it hit me
Hard and it was all too harsh
I am changing and I am not in control
Bulging at places I never considered would one day stand out like places seeking attention
I never had a clue about how I would look into the mirror and see shaded places that were once light
I would see marks where there had been none
I would miss the hair that used to annoy me getting into my eyes
I hadn't a clue I would work out and see no obvious change except the change of amazing energy inside
I sometimes run out of air sitting still in my chair and cling to my chest as if I am running my very last marathon
The amounts of thoughts that run, get so out of hand they out run each other and suddenly there isn't enough space
But then a single thought then arises above the others while I slow my breath
You are Alive, You are Beautiful, You are You
In all your Uniqueness, you are all vibrant colors 
I understand that you may be ill prepared but preparation requires an idea of what is to expected
Expectation may leave you disappointed
Endless sayings that will leave you lost
While everything is changing, forgive yourself and pace yourself
Much will change and evolve
