Poem -
Ex Con
Now free ,
But not of the tagĀ
that's tattooed on me.
The name (& stigma) linger on.
The dubious honour ,
of being an ex con.
Prospect of a good job ? Low
Rehabilitation ? So so
Forgive and forgetĀ ? No , not yetĀ
A clean slate ? Maybe , after , a lengthy wait .
To many , You will always be known...
An ex prisoner who's served time .
An ex con , jailed for doing wrong
A leopardĀ (allegedly) never changes its spots.
Sure as night follows day
You're likely to re-offend again
