Expensive Laughter

Who knows what it takes to build a smile
But they who can build from their own tears
Life's dance is mixture of fast and slow
Good laughter comes from what others know
What is needed for breaking up frowns
Housed in the vault of remembrance
The store of every plight and pain found
With tools and bricks we call tolerance
The sweeter your laugh, so your value
And thus offsets my every expense
What love would not do to see you through
Will require that it expires
Redeeming treasure from my go through
Collecting data from laden backs
Transferring wrong to build smiles anew
As my mistakes so to my store's stacks
To see you laugh or just plain giggle
Will work the best parts of my manhood
Life is a heart that can still wiggle
Never mind my tears, it's understood
Humor will ever come with expense
For you, mine will always stand ready
Just know my vigilance is intense
Happiness and commitment steady
To see a smile that's been paid in full
No matter the tear stains in the way
A life lived in love takes care it's pull
This marriage bed was built that you stay
