FACADE

They see her smile, 

little do they know she died inside...

inside her mind, inside her mourned many years before 

When death came knocking at the door, 

They watched in oblivion, afraid to remove their rose tinted glasses 

afraid of what her then self may relieve 

They continued to live a lie, hazy eyed 

The yearning she once had inside, for someone to rescue her from herself 

no longer burns, no longer yearns.

They failed to catch her whilst she was falling now what they see is nothing beyond a facade.
