Faces

Faces

Faces in a sea of faces
 dream in frozen sleep
Standing guard
 the gatekeeper
 who hides them all
 from me
But ignorance has it's cost
The gatekeeper
 demands his pay
And I must travel carefully
 lest the ice should break

Janiece Hemphil...

This poem (Faces) is about surpressed memories... keeping them hidden comes at a cost.
