Fading into the Night
Lightening crash’s down,
blasting away the past-
Illuminating her path.
Bits and pieces,
scatter to each corner-
As the light fades.
The child disappears,
receding into the night-
Innocence lost
in the hands of fate.
As one is lost,
another is born-
into silent chaos.
Broken and fleeing,
towards the warmth-
an angels embrace.
Firm smooth safe,
feathery serenity-
shielding her heart.
Pale blue eyes,
vigilant and serene-
softly shine upon her.
Nestling deep into his wings,
sheltered she sleeps-
consumed in unholy dreams.
Night by night,
horror after horror-
pieces collect to heal.
Thunder rolling deeper,
louder with each rumble-
quaking the foundation.
So timidly built,
making the waves-
pound hard to her heart.
No future to speak of,
an angel guides-
gently through the ruins.
Only grains of sand,
remain of the days-
before she was thrust.
Into her own,
no direction, no faith-
just a nameless face.
Searching to find,
her place in time-
In the long lonely night.

Lightening crash’s down,
blasting away the past-
