Faith

Faith

Clouded mind,
Glazed over eyes.
Burning hot floor,
Falling sky.
Chopped down trees,
Bombed houses.
Shrapnel flies,
A bullet hits me to my knees.
But there's no blood,
No pain.
Someone behind me hits the floor,
Bombs are being dropped from a plane.
Mustard gas flies,
People put on there mask.
I have no mask,
This breath may be the last.
I merely escape,
Covered in bullet wounds.
Crawling on my hands and knees,
Since the month of June.
You helped me through,
Defeated my demons.
Held my hand,
Led me to freedom.
You may only be young,
Don't even understand.
But you saved me,
You are my best friend.
My little sister,
My ray of hope.
My helping hand,
The one that helps me cope.
I would do anything for you,
I hope you see this.
I love you with all my heart,
My little sis.
