Falling Forward

Standing on the edge of innocents

Looking ahead into the unknown

I look up

Nowhere left to go but down

Should I jump?

I know I can’t stand here

I stare into the distance

Constantly questioning myself

Wishing for no regrets

I leap forward, only to fall behind

Desperately searching

Is this cold hollow soul

Really who I want to be

I feel the softness of the air

Brushing lightly against my hand

Your eyes so piercing

I pray for just one last glance

The silence echo’s…

We stand face to face

Hand in hand

I hear you silently yelling

Can no one hear my cries?

I have sealed my fate

It’s over

All I have has been lost

What we had is gone

A simple kiss, A simple smile

A simple good-bye
