Fame Is A Fleeting Thing

Fame Is A Fleeting Thing

Fame is just a fleeting moment
Until the next so called sensation hits the scene
Make hay while you can cause you'll soon be yesterday's news
Your adoring fans are fickle and before you can say Justin
You're yesterday's child, yesterday's sensation
And your adoring fans have moved on to the newest and latest heartthrob
You see us ordinary folks don't have that problem
People who love us today will still love us tomorrow
Fame is such a fleeting thing
But true love is a forever thing

As an author you're only as good as your last novel.
As a poet the last thing anyone's going to remember about you are your words and how you chose to use them.
As a human being, the last thing people will remember you for is your compassion, your dignity, and your heart.
In the end, it's not fame and fortune that matters or the quantity of friends you've managed to make in life.
It's the quality.
Nice writing as usual, Jack.
