"FAR AFIELD"

I lie here
Lost in music
A sky hidden behind clouds
Have I ever known emotions such
As visions and dreams

The cry of the wind
Almost phantom
All of my secrets and fears
Pour out of me like spelled wine

Smoke rises in the wind
Ravens take flight from a field
Of scattered pieces of me
Turned into ashes

It's all poetry
Even the silence
That displace the stretch of echoes
Do you bear a yearning for stars
As do I

Remember how summer felt
Promises of painted horizons
Where our words are witness
To the rise and setting of the sun
And the redolence of flowers

A few yards away
Stands a well, bottomless
I threw in a stone
And blackness swallowed it whole

I pondered if it would fall forever
Or land into the Earth's core
And melt away

I am a shadow of a shadow
Half a world away
As the woes forge songs
Inspired by you

If only you'd run with me
With no clear destination in mind
Just away
From this place
From this time
As fast as our will takes us
So shall we run
