The Far Side of The Universe

Have you gone home Peninsula girl?
Are you sitting on the sandy shore
watching waves swell and rage
have the seagulls flown back to California?
I miss your voice and mercurial ways
and the games we played with each other
snow was waiting just for you to leave
and the sky once filled with sunshine
is now covered over with heavy darkness
it seems like the beginning of time
since you've been around
now everything moves so out of time
the world has somehow lost its rhythm
my heart beats for you just across the bay
please be patient with me just a while
until I come across to see you; one fine day

Hey Mamma Jamma!!..........so cool ~ I have a peninsula girl myself brother...........across Lake Michigan here in Chicago..........there's the "Upper Peninsula" where I used to spend time with a very good girl friend of mine..........when it's intense............and they're gone..........it does feel like "The Far Side Of The Universe"..............beautifully delivered my friend.................T xo
Hey T....is that right? and good for you my friend D...yeah it can be tough when you miss someone; I just wrote it to make myself feel better to be honest....I'm a very lazy unmotivated man when it comes to writing poetry, I only seem to write when I feel down or pissed off at something; weird...thanks for encouragement pal....I should have a few days coming up to catch up on comments; I know I haven't been making many; apologies, this site is far less fun without comments; to be honest....later my friend
thank you Lily Mae, it was longing that moved the pen
Piethora of Turmoil, thank you for reading and commenting on this poem, I plan on publishing a book of poems in a year or two; another lamb to the slaughter, lol... so I do appreciate knowing what turns people on, I write poetry a lot but only post what I really like, if it connects to the readers on this site and another site I'm on, that is terrific...thanks again for the feedback, my friend
