Farewell to Lidia

A jewel has set 
in a star
and the Earth bids
farewell to an angel,
of whispering kindness
and brow so fair.

Her heart a poppy
of gentleness in petals
that floated away,
a heartbeat, pure
upon the timeless air

Now a flower
in the light,
freshly remembered
for all eternity,
to flourish and thrive,
sheltered in the secret
garden of the mind,
where her beautiful soul
lost in darkness no more,
will grow and blossom
in sunlit dreams once more.
