Fate

Turn and look at what's to see
Something out there following me
Shadows move across the ground
No one appears to be around
Daylight fades, now pitch black
There isn't any turning back
Presence felt, I know you're here
Closing in, coming near
Shadows always stay close by
Drop to my knees, start to cry
With me every step I take
From that day, that one mistake
Always watching as I grow
Signs of death, you the crow
Stolen life I've yet to live Sorrow is all you have to give
Escape the crow, he is my fate
Every day you lay and wait

Dear Scarlet Ann, with so many poems written on this siteĀ I don't always haveĀ time to read all of them ...but I am so pleased I read your poem! It is beautifully constructed and so many storylinesĀ can be read into this. What emerges clearly is a sense of fear and grudging acceptance of what fate has in store for you..A well written piece of work that was a delight to read!
Lodigiana xx
Thank you very much.
