Poem -

Father

You were my dad and always will,
the one that kept the family fill,
By fill I mean of hearts you touched,
The ones unfilled with lifes great much.

Never a day passed without a new face, taking up the family space.
you lived your life in kindness, other will never know.
The way you suffered as you seemed to grow.
Foster care so understood, never eating like the way you should.

They would have steak as your sandwich shrunk. peanut butter and jelly spoke.
You had long hair from cutting none
you got thrown out of church down the stairs
from hair undone.
You fought the fights for your sister so young.
Protecting her from the numbness

never did we ever have you as our own, our father you were but so unknown.
By us to other we were the outcasts but special as the outcast that you were too. Like all your childen, we're just like you
