Poem -

A Father's Neglect

Her eternal protector,

always her guideline.

Everlasting male standard,

shoulder to cry on.

He makes his promises,

always last minute change.

Her disappointment sparks,

what else will change?

Invitations sent always,

one question asked.

He never gives her,

Just one dance.

Fathers and daughters,

twirl and twirl.

Father and daughter,

not one dance.

Sitting in church,

Fathers day arrives.

Fathers and daughters,

dance and laugh.

Just never her.
