Poem -

Fear and its Force

I could not stop it happening
How could I know the outcome

I felt the shock waves and crouched for cover
I stayed so still, for what seemed like hours

I timidly opened my disbelieving eyes
I saw you but you did not engage with me

The fire in your face made it apparent I was not welcome
To make my stance submissive, was all I could do

Would you, by any remote chance, recall me
Would you remember......... I love you

You did not
You passed by my fear and broken heart

You were aware of nothing but destruction
Of me? Or you? I do not know. Perhaps both

I settled in my corner till the threat of you had passed
My tears were so silent, my shoulders did not shake

I have no idea what happened to you
I will just pick up the pieces and try to repair

The damage goes on and on and on
I hope with all my heart you find peace

A write like this is more than poetically compelling... it takes the reader into the moment..... that powerful moment that a gifted writer creates with a strong sense of phrasing that paints those powerful images deftly!!......Thanx for sharing this most important subject matter with us all!!......ALL STARS!!....... well done dear poet sister!!...... Thankyou. I wrote it over a year ago and put it to one side. I hope it may help others to express and share.
