Poem -

I Took Down my Nets

My windows obscured my view of the world
They kept me hidden. A safety net complete

They shrouded me in a closet within its delicate haven
I saw no life and mine was eluded

I felt a little trapped by the floating lace
I saw no one smile happily or no lack of grace

A few cobwebs had taken hold
A safe house for all, no need to be bright or bold

I looked, as I do, at the comfort they bring
Yet they did only distort my vision and view

I felt exposed almost naked for a time
When I took my nets down

Like a bird in a cage
My privacy gone

Then I saw things I had never seen
A life that's vibrant and interesting

My windows are now clear for me to see
I welcome everyone, if they care to, see just me
