Feeding Delilah

Feeding Delilah

Why do you give yourself to the fire Delilah, and

Blame the world for what you alone created?

You never wanted to go to heaven-- anyway

And there’s plenty of blood here-- for you to drink

Go satisfy your insatiable appetite-- for a while

Pull down the careless sinners with you

Give them your Mona Lisa come hither smile

Or whisper sweet words of carnal promises

Will they ever find destruction in your lethal eyes?

And truly see what makes you so alive?

No.   Beauty hides your human stain from them

 Look how they long for your attention;

Waiting for a chance at your cherished prize, so

Feed Delilah, feed until the moon bids you farewell

Missing your sweet presence before you leave,

Will you come back to our home, one day, Delilah?

Where you can find a certain comfort

Come and rest your wayward, tired head, my love

I fear your soul shall perish as a harlot

wow! such a message. it applies to so many, both men and women. the title in itself speaks to the biblical plight of Samson, who ultimately lost his life due to the wiles of a harlot. this is a great poem.

An excellent write with a perfect narration and different style. I love it.
