Fighting Demons

Beneath the surface no one sees, no one tries to find what I am hiding
Living a lie not knowing who I really am, pretending I am fine
Put my face on in the morning, my disguise for the day
Wear my armour for the battle, let no one cross the line

It gets harder everyday, I don't even know myself anymore
I see a stranger in the mirror, I don't recognise the reflection
Walk in a straight line, follow the pathway
Trying hard not to lose my direction

I am fighting more demons with each passing day 
Writing stories in my head that keep me safe
Keep walking the line as straight as I can
The best I can do to keep out of harms way

A new day has dawned let the battle commence
Determined to win with my head held high
I'll beat the demons all by myself
Life is never easy but all I can do is try
