Fighting for survival

Still got what it takes to raise the stakes
rhymes for days with no mistakes
i took a break 
but still got words that could fill those lakes
words like raindrops fill this page

Have you missed my poetry skills
if not im still at work like power tool drills
been busy working endless shifts
so i can pay those unwanted bills

living a family life
Got to put food on the table day & night
Its a struggle an strife
but still hold hope an have ambition in sight

little girl is big now
im tryna make it big to make her proud
as this earth goes round
i wanna make sure shes safe & sound
