Finding a Little Cheer

Finding a Little Cheer

On Christmas Day

 monsters nap

 under the sea

 out of sight

 over snowy hills

the sun turns
 silver

dark winter sparkle

mother nature

 shakes snowflakes

off her round bosom

 faces move

in postcard time

 frozen river
skating

 scented evergreen

 white open fields

 roasting chestnuts

 crackling fires

Hey Mamma Jamma!!!!........what a stunning accomplishment this is for the fabric of Christmas Cheer!!.........beautifully painted picture of the soul of it.........it does create a type of "Suspension Of Disbelief".........as though a master playwright had created it.........and spread it globally ~ like the Bible did into every home in the world.........I ADORE the masterful way you used imagery and lovely syntax to remind us all of what a truly magical day it has become.........you ~ my friend ~ are a wonderful writer........thanx for lifting my heart into the Joy Of Christmas with this truly worthy Christmas write........much Love and warm wishes to you and yours brother!!...........Love and Rockets!!..........T xo

Hey T, how are you my friend?  thanks for saying all that,  I wasn't really in the mood to write poetry when this one came in the wind, but I began feeling a little selfish, so I listened to the poetry 'voices' lol...been a rough month or so pal, and I was getting a little 'down', my van is killing me, am working six days a week, and still can't see the money...so I did what I have to do when I get down, it always works; at least for me;  Bee Gees Binge bro.  I listened to a live concert on youtube, almost two hours, listened to selected songs today; and I feel lots better, I'm a huge Bee Gees fan; not like the Beatles or some Neil Young, but nobody brings up a mood like the Bee Gees; like a hug for the soul is there music; (not mine) anyway I'm glad you like the write, merry Xmas to you and yours, ttyl

HRL, the best handle ever, thank you my friend, yes 'sarcasm' is like vitamins for me, lol, glad you picked it up, yes around this time a lot of people seem to move 'differently' and behave 'differently' as well; except when they're driving to the mall, then they are even bigger arsehoods than they usually are, no Christmas spirit when they have to pick up goodies for lil bobby and sally lol, hey enjoy the season, HRL...peace

the one and only sister Cherie, wow!  you are amazing at CSIing a poem, virtual handshake...just freaking brilliant how you did that,  hey even if that wasn't my intention in the poem, I would say it was, lol; it sounded very cool the way you explained it,  but I can be honest and say that I did try to do all that; scouts honour...Cherie I apologize for not reading and commenting on your work recently, I feel a bit guilty that I haven't commented for a while, I've been in a fog recently; a bit over whelmed by work and circumstance, so I have all the more reason to thank you for this wonderful review of my work, I always appreciate it, I'm never really sure if a write does anything for a reader, and you never give a generic comment, and thanks for that also....have a great Christmas my friend, and ps, you are a great poet and always will be, and you can write  one good or excellent poem a day; a near impossible feat, just saying...cheers sis.

Don't Know how I missed this but im glad I got to read just before Christmas, hey were busy right. Not much to say that these other comments didn't, but I enjoyed this write a favorite holiday write for me loved the whole thing. Im like you going to the mall gives me a first hand look at what the Christmas spirit just isn't. All that lovely winter imagery in your write I wish we had some of that here it's unseasonably hot here and shouldn't be lol. Incredible write brother and hope you and yours has a merry Christmas it sounds like you deserve it working 6 days a week.

Devon it's pretty 'warm' in Toronto also, at least for this time of year, but in the words of Ned Stark, 'winter is coming'  and I'm not a fan of winter after December.... in reality we all on the eastern side of North America know what winter really is, lol, not skating on frozen lakes and sniffing ever green trees, my bones are too old now for it....anyways bud keep enjoying your family and this beautiful time of year, I'm Canadian and can be a bit cynical about the weather, but still enjoy living here, so there the truth comes out, lol....later pal
