Fine by me

Fine by me

Beyond the four walls

No one knew

But me

And I knew

I had to set me free.

I waved goodbye

Kissed my mom

Stepped forth

Through the barbed wire

Headed north.

Mom's alone

Sitting next to dad

Her book

A book of psalms.

I step on stone

And rolling rocks.

Yosef waves

And blows a kiss,

Walks five steps

Then waits again.

Tears in his heart

For I am a sister

Leaving the family.

Mindy cries for real

Tears and tears and more tears

But not as many as mine

For I know where I'm heading.

I'm heading nowhere

Leaving everyone

And at the time

It was fine by me.
