Fire

Fire

Fire
To be alive it must consume
For its rise it must doom
Beauty in its beast
On my passion it’s come to feast
This blaze is now a sun
I have become undone
I shut my eyes
I’m hypnotized
So hot a flame
My heart it claims
I look around
And no light is found
Left but a memory
But will it remember me
Β The flame may have gone out
Its existence, I doubtΒ
But the log still remembers,
And the smoke still lingers
Β
